ABOUT ME

Mental health and emotional wellbeing are the fundamental pillars from which we develop the capacity to enjoy life and achieve.

The foundations of our future mental health are established during infancy and the early years. Emotional dys-regulation as well as attachment, social, sleeping or feeding difficulties can set the stage for difficulties later in life.

Without mental health, young people can struggle to access and benefit from education, social opportunities and safe, respectful and nurturing relationships both with others and themselves.

"50% of mental health problems are established by age 14 and 75% by age 24"  (Allison and Campbell (2019) "Transforming Child Mental Health", Anna Freud National Centre for Children and Families). But early support can play an important role over the long term.

I am passionate about helping children and young people and their families turn their struggles into opportunities to learn.

Psychotherapy can help us manage what is presently causing distress and increase our understanding of how our minds work. This enables us to manage difficulties and challenges with lifelong benefits.
